Holiday Wreaths

1My neighbor Tammy always makes these holiday treats for us and my kids love them. It has a similar base recipe as Rice Krispies Treats which is a family favorite, except uses Corn Flakes cereal.

Ingredients:

  • 6 cups Kellogg's Corn Flakes cereal
  • 1 10oz pkg regular marshmallows or 4 cups miniature marshmallows
  • 1/3 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 tsp green food coloring
  • red cinnamon candies
  • prepared vanilla frosting

Directions:

  1. In a large saucepan, melt butter over low heat.
  2. Add marshmallows to saucepan and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.
  3. Stir in food coloring.
  4. Add Kellogg's Cornflakes cereal and combine until well coated.
  5. Line a baking sheet with wax paper, parchment paper or tin foil.
  6. Grease a 1/4 cup measuring cup or coat with cooking spray. Measure a 1/4 cup of the cereal mixture and place on baking sheet. Grease your fingers and shape the cereal mixture into individual wreaths.
  7. Dot with cinnamon candies, use prepared frosting to hold candies in place.
  8. Store in a single layer in airtight container.

Comments:

- You can also make these out of Rice Krispies cereal, however, use 3 tbs of butter or margarine instead of 1/3 cup.

Tips:

- None
