Holiday Wreaths
My neighbor Tammy always makes these holiday treats for us and my kids love them. It has a similar base recipe as Rice Krispies Treats which is a family favorite, except uses Corn Flakes cereal.
Ingredients:
- 6 cups Kellogg's Corn Flakes cereal
- 1 10oz pkg regular marshmallows or 4 cups miniature marshmallows
- 1/3 cup butter or margarine
- 1 tsp green food coloring
- red cinnamon candies
- prepared vanilla frosting
Directions:
- In a large saucepan, melt butter over low heat.
- Add marshmallows to saucepan and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.
- Stir in food coloring.
- Add Kellogg's Cornflakes cereal and combine until well coated.
- Line a baking sheet with wax paper, parchment paper or tin foil.
- Grease a 1/4 cup measuring cup or coat with cooking spray. Measure a 1/4 cup of the cereal mixture and place on baking sheet. Grease your fingers and shape the cereal mixture into individual wreaths.
- Dot with cinnamon candies, use prepared frosting to hold candies in place.
- Store in a single layer in airtight container.
Comments:
- You can also make these out of Rice Krispies cereal, however, use 3 tbs of butter or margarine instead of 1/3 cup.
