Teriyaki Marinated Flank Steak
I have been making this recipe for close to 20 years now. The marinade is great on steak, London Broil and also I have made chicken skewers with it. It is a very versatile marinade.
Ingredients:
- 1 to 1 1/2 lb flank steak or London Broil
- 2 tbs sherry
- 2 tbs soy sauce
- 2 tbs vegetable oil or olive oil
- 1 tbs honey
- 1 tbs white sugar or brown sugar
- 1 tsp salt or kosher salt
- 1/8 tsp pepper
- 1 clove garlic, minced
Directions:
- Combine all ingredients in a large resealable bag, adding flank steak last. Seal and turn to coat.
- Marinate in refrigerator at least four hours or overnight.
- Remove from refrigerator and bring to room temperature.
- Grill steak until a meat thermometer reads 145 degrees for medium rare or 160 for well done.
- Instead of grilling, you may also broil this for 5 - 6 minutes on each side for medium rare.
- Let rest 5 minutes before slicing. Slice thinly against the grain of the steak.
Comments:
-
Our favorite cooked temperature for steak is 145 degrees. It has a
beautiful pink interior every time.
Tips:
- Prepare two of these meals at the same time, and before cooking...place one in the freezer for a meal at a later time.
